Voice coil orientation for full range drivers

When surfing the web I have occasionally seen pictures of speaker cabinets on Japanese sites, where the voice call wires appear to be orientated so that they come out at 11:00 and 1:00 o'clock. I have always assumed that this was simply an error caused by stacking a small speaker upside down, but some drivers ised to have radial lead outs that should definitely be mounted at 12:00 and 6:00 o'clock. Is there a strong argument for the conventional position of 5:00 and 7:00 o'clock or is it simply intuitive?

It is simple aesthetic. I like them at 5 & 7 (or 3 & 9).

I opted to position my drivers so the leads to the voice coil are at the top. The wiring inside the enclosure needs to run through a small space at the top of the box, so I figured the wiring would lay better if I put the speaker in that way.

Silly me, I just orient the driver for easy access to the wiring. Never thought that there might be a performance aspect.

That said, if painting patterns on the driver will change measurements, then surely two blobs of glue will have some kind of impact.
