Default Alnico question

I have a pair of fostex 10RG11 drivers. This is a 4" alnico driver that probably evolved into the fe103. When I measured them I came up with.

FS 168hz
QTS .706
QES .774
QMS 7.97
RE 7.32
.306mh

I have heard that alnico loses it's streignth and needs to be remagnitized
every 20 years or so yet my philips 9762 drivers seem to be doing fine and
are at least 50 years old. Can you look at the T/S measurements and get
an idea if the magnet needs recharging?

Woody,

Those are one of the more commonly found versions from the family of drivers lumped together as FE103A. Yours would be out of a set of Admirals Tunnel Reflex.

Which driver is the "real" Fe103a??

Transmission Line Speakers

Your Fs is way high (a good pair os 85-100), and the Q a bit high. That could be due to SSS (Stiff Surround Syndrome) or loss of magnet strength.

I currently am trying a pair of these (fully treated) in Aiko.

Seeking suggestions for Fostex FE103A

Pictures soon.
