I think it would be fun to take a poll of people's favorite fostex driver. IF you dont see your favorite listed, please specify.
I only had 10 slots for the poll, so some drivers were grouped together. So if you vote, please also list your reasons for the driver you chose. Not Included: 5,6,8 inch K-series. FE138ES-R. F120A, F200A Alnico. Also, Japan-only drivers. They are pretty uncommonly used, but please post if you use and prefer them! Last edited by gripracer; 8th January 2010 at 01:58 AM. |

My vote is somewhat skewed, since the FE87e is the only Fostex driver I've ever heard. Regardless, I like it a lot.

Hello,
A very hard question for me. I have the ff: F120A, F200A, FE208ez, FE168ez, and FF85k. All sounded great for me, all favorites. Godspeed. John Revilla |

FE168SigmaES; once broken in, well balanced through the audio spectrum. Plays very well without a super-tweeter, a sub is not a must and fantastic slam.

I put in a vote for the FF85k. Mids and highs are simply wonderful. Bass is MIA, but what do you expect from a 3" driver? And at it's price, I have to call it a Best Buy.
I will also add an honorable mention for the F120a. When driven by tubes, it really shines--and is worth the considerable (to me) price. Unfortunately, if you use SS amps, it will just fall on its face. Cheers, Jim

I give the 108esigma a thumbs up for great all around performance in the un-modded category.. Okay sensitivity, great construction, fair price, nice bass for a little driver in the right cab, great mids and nice highs.. A lot of bang for the buck imo

Although, I think I'll add a supertweet to mine at some point in the future.
