Default New speakers in the house

I have just finished building a pair of BLH speakers for the DFR8 (modified FE206E) using the Hornresp program to model the design. Right now I am in the process of testing/tuning, and I would appreciate some advice about compression chamber size and stuffing.

The CC volume is 4,0 litre (exclusive driver). It is lined with 1/8 " felt, except on the baffle, and it is damped with wool (8 g/litre). Additionally the first 60cm of the horn is lightly damped with wool (2 g/litre). The horn is exponential in two sections: L1=22 cm, L2=268cm, So=72cm2, S1=185cm2, Sm=3030cm2.

The speakers sound great, but I am not quite satisfied with the upper bass / lower midrange (female voices). Is the CC maybe too small?

Regards, Balsam

First, CC is a misnomer. We call it an Air cavity. Smaller means less highs get into the horn. Given the smoothness of your horn, you could be having issues with that, A larger air cavity will push the LP into the horn down lower.

Nice looking boxes
