Default Open Baffle musings

Anyone used one of the 50mm Bandors, or jordans / simmilar in an open baffle?

Would be used above 600Hz odd as a 'large tweeter' (active crossover). Using xBaffle, on a reasonable size panel (around 400mm) can reach down to 600Hz.

Just an odd idea as a lot of people who have heard the bandors seem to compare them to ElectroStatic Speakers

Is this idea doomed from the outset or actually worth looking into?

Ta,

And I feel obliged to point out that if you want to do an OB from scratch without wasting an enormous amount of time and money, buying MJK's MathCAD worksheets is $$$ well spent. His OB worksheets model not only the baffle effects, but the room boundary effects as well. And if that isn't enough, the two way OB model includes XO!

Cheers, Jim
