For years ive been trying to get the best results with full rage speakers.

The main problem i face is that most speakers are specifically designed for a specific purpose. The best speakers are all designed for horn use.

However if they were designed for use with a simpler bassreflex and were better controllable by means of a DSP controlled amplifier, this would mean a much more modern way of getting the best out of a single driver.

cone

Hi,

in which way should e.g. "cone breakup" be controlled using a dsp?

Kind regards

cones are normaly good designed.

For me the changes are for the Rms the lossiness off the speaker
If one could control this for instance by current driving the speaker this good be a good way to be able to improve on the lower end.

And one could use a dsp to even out the frequency responce.

but maybe its just a stupid idea?

That kind of DSP religion always goes together with
"optimization for a very narrow sweet spot".

It is not interesting. Despite for listeners bonded to
a chair which is located right below the sweet spot
with their head fixed, living in a huge anechoic
chamber.

I recommend headphones and a subwoofer then.
Leads to better results in that kind of sport.

Constructing good loudspeakers i a different kind
of thing.
