Hi,
I am thinking of building a pair of computer speakers from this model of Fostex drivers, much better than some of the commercial speakers sold at the moment. Those experts out there please confirm whether they can be ported to speaker cabinet at around 2 lit, Bass Reflex, it will be x-overed to a sub woofer at around 140Hz. cheers. |

I'd have to look at them again... when i was working up the uFonken, i looked at FE83, FE87, and FF85. In the end i chose FF85 (in 2 litre) since to get the same bottom out of the 1st 2 i needed a box as large as the mFonken (4.5 litre). Since you only need 140 Hz, you may be able to get by.

I don't want to open another thread so I will ask here: will the use of Dayton RS100 togeter with FE83E be overkill for PC speaker?
Which one from FE83E, FE87E of FF85K would be better in this case (from 3-400Hz). I am also considering Fountek FR88EX. |
