About a year ago I have built a double bass reflex with the FX120 and still like it. If you place it close to the wall, bass response is not bad.

Zim, beautiful woodworking and write up.
You'll really want to build a pair similar post #17. (I can't remember if it's a Fonken or Onken)
I have two working pairs post 17 and Fostex's DBR's with A/B switch and back/forth all the time, there really is no comparison, the compact version is hands down better.
The double BR goes a little lower, but not much, the sound stage and balance is much better with the compact, finger port boxes.
I did rush thru the post 17 project, it was about a day build (I was skeptical back then) but even though a rough around the edges project, they sound great.
Some may recognize the ply, it's a specialty fur core plywood, I think it's the best sounding product/wood out there. Let's keep that under our hats
