Default which FR driver and approach don't "gargle too much"?

certain bass heavy moments in music may bring out modulation effects - which of your fave setups keep this unobtrusive on good recordings?

That or enormous (front and) back loaded horns.

EDIT: there's also Karlson cabinets that acoustically dampen cone excursions below FR.
