Someone at Ebay is selling the Tangband 1320 at a fairly good price ($60-70 a pair including delivery). I am thinking of using a pair as a bipole arrangement.
My query is that how does it compare to the Fe127 in a similar arrangement? Would the FE127 has an edge over the Tangband in terms of sound reproduction? Any input from any one is welcomed. Cheers. |

$70 a pair for the bamboo including shipping, I'd get some (no longer availiable).
I use 2 arranged like the omega minuet http://www.dagogo.com/images/SG-NYC-...nuet-front.jpg here's a link to a picture of mine. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...ageID=24436489 the fostex has a peak just b4 7khz while the bamboo has a peak at 6khz (never bothered me). The bamboo has a shorting ring and phase plug. The fostex has a 3 gram cone while the bamboo is 3.5 grams. The bamboo has a stronger magnet. I'd imagine they are close in sound but who knows. The fe127e has a huge following while the bamboo was too pricy for huge popularity (even though worth it) and was discontinued (my theory). People are still buying 127e, even at $45 now. Most of this stuff is like flavors. I am thinking of trying 4 of the 2" peerless (830970) in an array similar to the 7th veil "nonsuch 4" but I'd use somewhere between 18" and 24" wide baffle to avoid baffle step stuff. http://www.tnt-audio.com/jpg/nonsuch.jpg Why not buy 1 of each then tell us what you think ? I have the 3 inch in salad bowl enclosures and they sound great. If you have the chance to get a pair, then do it and give them a listen. The only down side is they are less efficient than the fostex.
