Hi,
I'm wondering that if both cabinets use the same driver is there much difference between the two sonically? Or perhaps a better way to ask is, are there any specific differences in sound quality between the two that are obvious? Both are on my short list, as is the Austin 166 as I've read numerous times that the dynamics of the larger drivers are improved, which is appealling. There's a couple of the Spawn of Frugal cabinets that I'm interested in too. There's just so many there with documentation hard to trace down for comparative insight. Thanks for reading |

IMO the A126 does everything better ,plus has a proper driver height for a floor standing speaker at around 37'' to driver center, unlike the FH at a very short 25-28'' center driver height... The A126 sounds fuller and just as detailed , with about the same complexity of build.. Having said that, the last time I listened to it with the dished out supra baffle and early modded 126 driver (blueish ink look) it sounded very dry and somewhat irritating or fatiguing to me., the A126 is the build to do though...
This is the style I'd stay away from and what I was talking about http://homepage.mac.com/tlinespeakers/FH/images/austin- A126.jpg Dave |

Frugel-horn wants corner support, A126 wall support... the A126 is more refined, but room position really determines which is appropriate.
