Default Fostex GK120 Speaker?

Interesting I guess... appears to be an aperiodic enclosure with the vent on the bottom.

Has anyone seen these before?

Regards, KM

I saw those while in Japan. I don't recall them being that expensive though--maybe they were. In any case they didn't sound bad but I can't remember any sound signature to mention. I do remember being unimpressed, but maybe that's a good thing. There were quite a few DIY version of that driver that sounded more impressive. Again, no long term listening sessions with these so I'm really of little help.

FWIW, this looks a little small for the F120A, nor particularly well braced - I'd be rather concerned about resonances.

Lower sensitivity aside, this driver is certainly capable of wonderful performance, and in a good enclosure is not shy of bottom.

Of the Fostex family I've heard, it's not as "impressive" on first listen as say an FE166ESR or such, but has a great balance between tonal neutrality and detail that very quickly becomes quite captivating.

of course a coat of Bud's warpaint doesn't hurt
