Hi all,
I've already sent a question to "loudspeakers" forum however no reply until now.. Then decided to ask from here.. This is the situation: Last weekend I listened some fullranges in a local dealer that: - A pair of Tang Band W3-1319SA in really small sealed boxes, - A pair of Tang Band W5-1611SA in ~15lt vented boxes, - A pair of Jordan JX92S in ~15lt vented boxes, - A pair of Lyeco LY802F in huge boxes.. Jordans are really good speakers and satisfied me too much especially for the treble details.. (240€ each) But the T&B W5-1611SA s are very close to the Jordans by the meaning of mid and bass response. But with some lack of high trebles. And theyre really cheap ones. (50€ each) Anyway, I'd like to make a pair of simple T&B W5-1611SA box tuned at 54.9Hz. And I've already calculated and drawn the box as follows. My question is; If I want to add a tweeter to this system like; http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=23 (It looks suitable for TBs anyway..) What kind of crossover should I use? My opinion is just a 6dB/oct HP filter for tweeter will be enough.. What do you say? Thx in advance..

Hi there - just bringing up this thread again to see if there's any progress. this looks like an interesting fullrange unit - especially for the price!

I wonder if Ozgur is still waiting for his answers.....
btw: if a tweeter with the W5-1611, then just make it a back firing ambient tweeter, don't mess up the FR, just ad a bit of sparkle |

Hi,
In fact I was giving up that project. However the fever push me again to make one 1611 project! My tweeter question is not exist anymore! Last week I visited the local dealer again. And listened the 1611 one more time. Then I decided that it doesnt need a tweeter. May be the last time I listened it had a LR filter and now not. Anyway, I'd like to make that project. Any suggestion will be usefull for me.. Has anyone tried that speaker?

I am not aware of this driver being available in the USA. It could possibly be considered the little brother of the beautiful W8-1808.
