I found the Takahashi 1981 patent number 4,243,839. The title is "Transducer with flux sensing coils". I think the patent can solve the speaker non-linear distortion problem. Do you guys know any speaker that is made with this technology? If not, could anybody explain why this technology is not picked up by manufacturers? Thank you!

I think yamaha used it or something like it for some woofers.
i cant really see the tiny picture the online patent site lets me see without registering though. so i could be completely wrong. but it will only feed back from the voice coil movement, it could help to get rid of some over or under excursion but I dont see any way it could "undo" any of the distortion caused by deformation and resonance in the cone. |
