Default EV wolverine's cabinet project?

I picked up a nice pair of EV wolverines in some junky Utah hang on wall pa cabinets at goodwill this week. The drivers are nice and in perfect shape.
The drivers are EV LS-12 fullrangers and I want to make a nice enclosure for them. Nothing huge please, I have a small room.

I was thinking about using some original plans such as the EV Marquis or the EV Aristocrats, but don't know which one will give me the best low responce. My room doesn't allow open baffles unfortunatly, at least not if usable responce is doable with 13" width and some wings. What do you guys think?

Yes, very good...
I had once SP-15 model
sounded realy nice even wo box.
it was sweet, with no peeks in range,
with Quad II tube amp was so natural...
but i had just one ls,..
there is no double cone ringing eff.
You can count to up or more than 6kHz,
flat
Try Voigt or Closed or even dipole cabinet first?
cheers

Default LS-12 Enclosure

The LS-12 is a relatively sensitive (mid-90's), high Q (around 1.2)driver with an Fs around 65Hz. It is well suited to OB and IB (wall mounted and open to an adjacent room or closet) use. I had good luck with the LS-12 in a 2.7cf aperiodic enclosure. I obtained surprisingly tight and extended bass (mid-50's) with room lift and along the wall placement, using a Dyna ST-70 with a parts-upgraded stock circuit and extra capacitance in the EL-34 plate supply.

Try a 2.5 to 3 cf box with a 5x7 inch cutout through 3/4 inch plywood, with a screen (stiff 1/4 inch wire mesh) barrier inside and a removable screen barrier in the front. Try out different fibrous and woven materials (dacron, fiberglass, wool, etc.)sandwiched between them until you get the best response. It will depend a lot on the amplifiers damping factor.

good luck,

Bob

hey thanks for the replies. I will be powering this with an RH84, if efficient enough. It drives my nova 6's to room shaking volume, and they are at best 89db I think. If the RH84 won't do it, I only have old SS receivers so I don;t think the damping would be great on those.

I thought that they had an FS floser to 57hz from other TS parems I have found for the driver? Also, q is more like 1.7. Could differ between woofers though, as tubes differ between batches.

I've been using a Zenith SEP (EL84) with a pair of Wolverine LT-12s in OB. Plenty of headroom there.

Excellent! What are you using for cabs, CH or OB?

Open baffle. The LT-12s T/S have a sky-high Q, ideal for small baffles. Highs aren't modern-day crystalline, but that may be that I haven't replaced the caps in them.

Well what size OB's should I use? I can't have anything over 2 feet wide, if that. I can however add wings.

Yeah, that does look good for a small room.
