well i just built a OB FE167e and Alpha 15a 15" OB combo. thanks to MJK for his online website.
I x-over at 9mH and 68uf and 4mH and 30uf with a resistor combo to step down the Fostex. sounds really good. open and airy. piano sounds great. arcam CD73 and McIntosh MC225 solid state amp. well... i want to design something with higher sensitivity. i.e. 2 alpha 15a and sometype of midrange from 400hz-15khz or so. (fullrange 97db). which fullrange driver?? maybe add a BG Neo3W at top end (dipole config). thanks

Obviously MJK goes in the opposite direction Beymas 12" fullrange seems good fore a high sensitivity dipole....to make a suitable woofer section may not be that easy, and you may need to look at other options than dipole fore the subs....dipole may need like 4x15" pr side and still not get "the deep power" BG planars doesnt seem like the highest sensitivity |
