Perhaps not news to all, but the NS3-193's are finally back in stock and Madisound has them on special for $12. It's nice to see these are back in play!
ns3-193-8a DOH! I just realized these are "seconds", with sloppy glue around the surrounds. Sorry for the quick post. I really should read the pages I'm linking before posting here. Perhaps someone will still find a home for these homely little guys. |

Who cares about the sloppy glue, if madisound has mentioned they have tested them and they are within spec!
At $12 a piece go for it, I'm about to call up to find out how many are left. |

Ya, saw these a few days ago and was debating on whether to pick up a few spares. These things sound nice and clear OB and sealed and stuffed imho.
Not really a fullrange build but if anyone's interested in using John Krutke's Slimline wall-mounted speaker design (zaphaudio.com) then you'll have to private message him for the crossover schematic at the partsexpress forums. His offer's good till sept 8th, after that he'll no longer respond to your request. Link to Slimline wall mount build (minus the crossover schematic): http://www.zaphaudio.com/audio-speaker20a.html And his small driver comparison including the NS3: http://www.zaphaudio.com/smalltest/ |

They, and a single Seas H1397, do just fine for me in a 3/4" marine plywood box that sits above the 12vdc TV. They are backed up with Aura NS4-255-8F-SP and Seas H1397 tweeters (right & left) and an Aura NS10-513-4A in a sealed box under the dinette hull seat. All lit up by a Arc 6 channel amp. Haven't decided whether to use the remaining two channels as surrounds or run them up to the cockpit.
