Default BL Horn Project Helix-5000

This is my last project of Exponential BL Horn.
I tried to design sufficiently big construction,
but (almost) suitable to set up in normal room.
(what do you think about title "family scandal")

Some parameters:
Lenght of exponent is 5000 mm (34.4Hz for 1/2 wave lenght).
Throat area is 88 sq. cm.
Offset ratio is approx. 0.5
Mouth area is 0.45 sq. m.
Volume of chamber is 7 liters, but it is easy to reduce to 3.5-4 liters (tighter bass and smaller drive excursion).

Helix is suitable for Bulgarian Full Range Drivers - Ether 5/6, but fits also Fostex 206/7 and others.

Hi,

what about mounting the driver with offset onto
the front baffle / into the pressure chamber ?

Looks possible without changing the folding, would bet
it will sound better then.

Yes i know, some people don't like to look at drivers mounted
offset. But others are interested in best sound mainly ...

Cheers

You can get Ethers from Asparuh Jeliazkov, designer of these drivers.
Phone number for contacts:

About driver offset...
Below I attached PDF with offset ratio 1.

Was it a joke, because you don't like side offset ?

Or do you mean everyone is free to introduce an offset
if he likes ?

I cannot see any difference between the drawings.
But filenames differ. Maybe i am getting blind ...

Sorry ...

This way is easier than changing the position of driver's hole onto front panel.

During my investigation into wave forming from the filter chamber to the throat a "funnel" approach always produced the better result. It may be nothing more than a slug of pressure at that point but it will affect the later wave form.
