i really love the look of this kit,im just wondering if anyone has any more low down on it...ie how good is it,specs, sound quality etc...has anyone built them...just cant find nothing else on them.
would be tempted to suck it and see,but the manual to it on the site is vague, hard to make sense of and it would be alot of work if it sucks!!!

Well, it looks acceptable enough on a graph. Interesting folding scheme. As for the sound, only one way to find out I'm afraid. Strikes me it might be a little over-involved for what it is, but YMMV as always.

With the higher Qts you should be able to get away with a lot.
I can find no reference to folding? As with any comprimised BLH the mouth will only support the actual horn action, the lowest frequencies would still be a TL action.

Iffin it were me the Jordan FR,Qts and greater Xmax would not require a BLH. GM has an excellent design for a MLTL that would work well and be physically smaller.

That would be my choice too Ron. The JX92S wouldn't be my choice for a BLH, but to each their own I suppose.

Re the folding, there's a small (and easy to miss link) at the bottom of the page to a pdf file which has the folding on it on the third page. http://www.hifisound.de/oxid/out/oxb...JJ-3001816.pdf

Greets!

Can't comment on how it will sound to you in your room, but compare Zaph's measured response (click the JX92S link) to the horn's to get a clue how much it messes with its response all the way up due to phasing and acoustic mass loading issues........

Bottom line, TJ doesn't recommend horn loading and IMO if a BLH is used it should be a large, very low compression one such as Nelson Pass chose and damp it down as required if too 'boomy' in-room.

As always though, YMMV.

from teds site...
Q: Can I horn load the JX92S?

A: Yes. This has been done with excellent results.

thanks for all the replies...general census seems to be it isnt up to much or worth the effort...i was just curious really, just fancied hearing a horn on the end of my 845se amps.
confused over people saying horns hnot suitable for the jx92s when the man himself seems to be saying otherwise!
all the best

Not really. He's not recommending it. He's saying that you can do it, with decent results (if you go with a large low compression design like the J-Lo as GM said), but that doesn't alter the fact that it's not what the drivers are designed for.
