Hi,
I am just wondering what other people's experiences have been with the Fostex Fe167E driver. How close to the fostex published parameters are the actual parameters that you guys have measured? Thanks. |

Passably. Vas is lower, overall Q a little higher.

I haven't measured a 167 since the production went to China. They are still drop-ins for the original Japanese production, or was that Taiwanese. The speakers I build still match the model.
I did just measure a pair of 207. Re 6.7 Fs 42 Qe .35 Qm 6.3 Qt .33 Vas 70 l Le .85 BL 7.8 Bob |

Hi Bob,
Is that a typo on Le? It seems too high for a FR.

Just dug out the average parameters on the matched 167s I got from Dave this time last year. Note: this is fresh out of the box & with low voltage drivers so expect Fs & Qt to drop, & Vas to increase somewhat in practice, & with an hour or so to loosen them up.
Fs = 59Hz Re 7.1ohms Qm = 4.79 Qe = 0.45 Vas = 25.56 litre Sd = 126.68 cm^2 Bl = 6.13 dB = 93 mms = 6.26g
