TB 2" Full Ranges
Hey guys, I've been looking at a couple of the TB 2" widebanders for an upcoming project, and have a question about their advertised sensitivities.

Sensitivity in the 85-86 range seems a little high for such a small driver. On the flip side, they are fairly useless under about 500 hz, even though they boast an Fs around 150 hz, so it's possible that 85-86 db is realistic above 500 hz.
So, has anybody used either of these drivers, and can give a good sensitivity number, or should I trust Tang Band, which is rather notorious for inaccurate specs?
If not, I'll buy a couple and test them myself, but I'd like to save the $30.00 if possible if they're grossly overrated.

Hi there Mr Minivanman.
I think they look okay but a PP cone might be bit heavy for such a small speaker.
I have some 3" drivers laying about sound allright, but up to 15 K not all the way up.
Ive seen some other small 2" speakers before and have some here at home that sound quite nice, but any Bass response will be hard.

Oh, they're going to be used as dedicated midranges in a 3-way tower. I haven't worked out the crossover, but I could go as high as 1khz for a high pass. I'll also be using a tweeter from about 10khz up, so I'm not asking a whole lot from them.
What I'm actually looking for is a good performing, but not costly 2-3" driver that will do 500 hz up to about 10k. I'll probably cross lower for better off-axis response, but I haven't figured it all out yet. I would like a sensitivity per driver of 85-86 db, or even higher is possible. A dome is not feasible for this application.

The overall design is going to be a WWMTMWW setup using Dayton RS125s for the low end. Since combined, the Daytons will have a sensitivity of around 89 db, I'd like two small midranges that will sum to around 89 as well. They need to be small for several reasons that I won't go into.
