Default No-Name full range Driver

Hi there gentlemen,

I found this driver in the open market, looks a bit like a lowther to me but im not sure what it is.

i dont have any more specs yet than 30 watts, 94 DBM and the price is 120 Euro per pair.

does anyone recognize it?

almoast every big brand produces there drivers in guandong china, so it could be anything.

thanks in advance,

Arjen

Hi Arjen,

Do you have a picture of the back of the magnet?

Hey, thanks for the reply,

I have no picture of the backside, but it was just metal, greenish coating on it and a small scew in the middle no markings of any kind on the driver at all.

will make a photo next time around.

thanks for your time,

Arjen Helder

Looks a lot like a Fostex FE166E with a phase plug and some kind of treatment on the surround.

Edit: on second thoughts it probably isn't. it doesn't have that plastic ring around the outside of the surround.

Hi there,

Yeah, i see the resemblace, also the power and the Fs is the same... shame on them in that factory selling speakers off in a different name haha, they said it was for a company in europe.

i think this is the one, it must be a Audio Nirvana.

They sell them for 80 Euro per pair. for a knock-off thats still a bit spendy.

Thanks for your keen eye.

Arjen

I imagine that we will start seeing more of this in the future. If they are AN Super 6.5 80euro is not much less than the actual AN drivers.

Note that the color of the cone is different from the ANs.
