I know you`ll probably say: BIB ...
But are there any other enclosure that would work ok with this driver. Because I really don`t like how a BIB looks in a 4x5 m room. Half-Chang? Needle? ... Thx! |

Hi
read the Replicon-thread Understanding the Replikon horn to find some information. a simplified plan is on Till's page: http://www.hornlautsprecher.de/projekt_alpha.htm A german magazin Klang&Ton reported the cheap-tricks N. 193 and 194 with this speaker (mentoined in the thread above) A more typically "resonanz-theory"-speaker with 60X is in the galery on Till's page: http://www.hornlautsprecher.de/galerie_henning.htm

Thank you guys!
I like the look of this "Backloaded Horn" ( http://www.hornlautsprecher.de/galerie_henning.htm ), but I don`t see any plans/specs. As I`m a complete novice, I`d appreciate if there are any plans for these drivers. Alpha project is good and I`ll consider it. Replikon - I simply don`t understand it Also, any other suggestions warmly welcomed. Thanks! |

Hi
don't worry about the replikon-thread... the major info on the 60x ist in post 66 and 68 on page 3 (Volume und design of the horn) and that probably very close to the alpha, especially in the variation with the larger mouth...

Thanks, buddy!
I`ll probably go with an Alpha, as this would be my first DIY speaker, and Replikon just seems like too much for me right now. But also, if anybody tried a Half Chang with this driver, I`d like to hear his experience ... |

What about a 14 to 17 liter vented-box?
Similar designs (with more expensive Fostex drivers): http://diyaudioprojects.com/Speakers...flex/index.htm http://diyaudioprojects.com/Speakers...flex/index.htm |

Since the 60X has proven to be a drop-in replacement for the old RadioShack 40-1354, Bob Brines' simple straight and folded ML-horn have been popular designs (especially the folded version) where high average SPL isn't a priority: http://www.geocities.com/rbrines1/Pa...ight_Pipe.html

Thanks.
But how would that sound with monacors? I`d like to hear anyone`s experience with these exact drivers. Anybody tried a fonken with them? |

Thanks a lot!
This what I call a project for a novice. Although, I`m a bit worried about author`s statement that without a baffle step correction circuit"the speaker sounds thin, with little bass". I`d like not to make any circuits (no need to mention why )
