Anyone have experience with this driver?
Fostex FW108N Is it just me or does this unit look like it could be folded up into a very small, fairly low tuned BiB? I know its only good to 7-8kHz at the top, but I would pair it with something like this HiVi RT1L up top. Anyone know if these units spec out close to listed in real life. Anyone else skeptical that one of these things could drive a BiB tuned to ~42Hz with any authority, or even at all? I know they're pricey (even quite a bit more so than the FE108ez with which they bear more than a passing similarity), and for that kind of money one should be able to expect some decent sort of performance, but seriously, it seems too good to be true that I could get within 10-15Hz of the bottom end performance of the gigantic, full sized BiB that my B20s would demand in an enclosure whose volume is less than 3.4% as much, while also having the opportunity to obtain possibly better midrange from a smaller cone (not to mention from the lack of a whizzer). What do you all think? Kensai |

Hmmm......
A Fostex with a realworld midband senstivity in the low 80's and all of 1mm of xmax - what is going on ? Moving mass is also high for a Fostex so for Fs Vas is also low at 4L. Still 1mm of xmax is not good for bass - though it is a lot better than the FE108ez, which TBH I cannot see any similarity to at all, they are very different drivers. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=1598 I'd say is a better option .....
