I have held them in my hand and heard them running full range no filtering in TL but not with my CDs. I would say like with all of the TB products I have heard, the performance far exceeds the price.

I don't really see them for sale anywhere.

The German importer is relatively close to where I live and I can't help but drop by and see the new toys and what's cooking.
The build quality is quite impressive given the price and the sound was also quite impressive. |

I would love to get that driver into a BIB! How much is it and when will PE be selling it?

No US source I can find, however the single European vendor is listing the W5-1611SA at 65 Euro. Just judging by the current (and deplorable) exchange rate, that'll put this one ~$100, or likely over once all is said and done.

I wonder why the TB stuff is going up in price so quickly? They are no longer inexpensive bargains. I used to consider them as inexpensive alternatives to Fostex having less detail and a darker overall sound.

Agreed. PE's sales can still make the TB's real bargains, but the prices have nearly doubled from where they were 1.5 years ago (AFAIK). I'm guessing the weak dollar is part of the problem, but I'm not certain if the TB prices in Europe are rising as quickly.
At least HiVi is still offering very inexpensive options, even if they are more limited in total variety. I just wish PE would get their hands on another batch of the black-coned NS3-193's! I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing more than four when they were offered at $10 ea. |

I happened to see that this went up on the website for the German importer for Tangband answering the question of how much they are going to cost. The price includes 19% sales tax. Should be available by the end of May. |

All industries are dealing with raising raw material cost. Nd has been going up at 15% per quarter lately. The exchange rate doesn't help either.
