I have never really likes opera, but picked up a couple of pavarotti albums a while back, and love the emotional sound in tenor's voices.
Mr Pots was incredible, and I hope he does well. pretty amazing really where you can find good voices. There was also a fella here in aussie who was a shoe repair man and ended up singing with pavarotti at some point a few years ago. Thread should probably be moved to a 'music appreciation' topical area. And on the note of tenors, can anyone recommend some great music CD's with great tenor voices for the uniniciated... ie a good cd with pavarotti or the 10 tenors or something. CHeers, stevo |

I love his performance, but the part that really gets me is his incredibly humble attitude and the audience's reaction. (Is the judge in the middle fighting tears in a few spots?)
As an FYI he did win the whole thing. And the competition was GOOD. |

There's a much better quality clip on youtube... and I actually went out and found his debut album (One Chance - Paul Potts) at BestBuy. Excellent performance but the recording is a big disappointment, very harsh sounding, audibly dirty on loud passages. Basically, recorded too hot with a hard limiter... really a shame, the guy has such a great voice. Still, glad I picked up the CD.
Regards, KM |
