does anyone know about a cheap 2" or 3" driver that could go from about 80hz to - 5khz or above? response should be pretty flat, power handeling is not that important. thanks!

That's actually pretty good bass response for that size driver. Maybe an Aura NS-193 or something similar. I know the HiVi B3S can do that, but it really turns to mud under 100Hz.

they are not likely to get you to 80 Hz unless they are large 4 inches or more even then 80 Hz is a tall order. That is in the bass range and TV speakers do voice range for the most part. You might also take a look at some dead getto blaster and the like.

80 Hz for a driver that size is a challenge... i've just started playing with the Fostex FF85k, it is good to 100 Hz with limited levels, and goes up, up, up from there (fully done up truely a stunning driver). The Aura NS3 is probably the bass king for a 3" but you pay by giving up efficiency.
