Default Need cheap full range 5 inch

Hello,

I want to make some voigt pipes and don't have enough dough for really nice drivers. Can you recommend voigt plans and a driver that is really affordable?

Thanks Josh

Check out this cheap Pioneer 4.5" FR:

Pioneer A11EC80-02F

Classic Voigt like this: Single Driver Website

I think the box drawing is a little big for the Pioneer's Vas. Something like 60" tall with the driver at 30".

Maybe Scottmoose could fine-tune something for you.

Default Little Pio Driver

Hope someone chips in on this. As much fun as I've had with the Pio NSB's I've been wondering about trying this driver as well. It's got an even better frequency range plus better power handling. I think it would be ideal for little tranny lines or an OB in series.

Way too big for the Pioneer, and it's not a great box anyway. If I were you, I'd try to stretch to the FE127E, which is a very flexible unit & will work well in a range of cabinets. Without knowing what your budget it, we're shooting in the dark though.

What we need is a USA Monacor importer. That, or some way to back door in some SPH-60Xs at the right price to replace the late, lamented 40-1354.

I was thinking something on those lines myself. The Monacor really is an excellent unit -for the price, you're laughing, but with the current exchange-rates, getting a pair from Europe would be a false economy for you guys. Surprising the US doesn't have distribution on Monacor products.

Hmm, didn't think about that. Still, what comes close/bests in performance with similar specs for the same inflated price of the Monacor? BTW, what price would it be?

The 4.5" Pioneer works well in the BIB cab. I built a pair a couple of months ago. They were a bit dark sounding at first but much better now. Waaaaay more bass than a driver that small should have.

After a quick look-see around the net I found BMM electronics in the Netherlands. Shipping is to Canada in our currency for 2 drivers:

Total goods
50.56

Credit card fee
3.02

UPS express saver 2.5kg
55.91

Total CAD
109.49

Have you considered the GR Research M 130? Perhaps the efficiency isn't high enough, but the response sure looks flat and the one I heard had remarkable depth. You can find it here:

I don't know about the bass tuning claims, haven't tried it.
