Here are a few shots of the reflex boxes for my double Chang.
Does the future hold a quad Chang? Any final calculations or dimension changes? I doubled the front dimension. The tweeter is going to be a Dayton DC28F to add a bit of top end sizzle. It’s a bit lacking with its 89 db SPL, but I’m hoping it will dress things up just enough. I’ll post more pictures after the Holiday. |

For the Quad Chang place the main drivers two over two with the tweeter in the center.
The Double Chang reminds me of an older fostex back horn design i had seen. |

Well, given the bomb-proof nature of the Pioneer, I can't see you having many SPL issues unless you a) have an amp with output in the 1Kw region and b) listen with the volume set somewhere between thunderclap and nuclear detonation.

I can't remember if you're going to veneer these babies, or paint. One suggestion for paint: don't use a water base primer! Use white pigmented shellac, or just plain ol' shellac. This prevents raising the grain.
Looking good. I'm waiting for my pioneer speakers and the beginning of my curved Changs. If you have good luck, I may have time to alter my Changs as well. Wonderful!
