Need advice reagaring speakers/amplifier build.
I'm not sure where I should really be posting this since I'm new here. I could really use some help though and some ideas on parts I would need for the following.
I am building a multitouch table and I need to install some speakers that will hook up to a computer or external soundcard (I have a m-audio audiophile).
The table looks like this:
I'm not really sure the best place to install the speakers or how many to use yet (2 or 4) so right now they are located on opposite sides in the diagram.
What do I need in order to install speakers onto the sides of the box and then hook them to the computer/soundcard (speaker, amplifier, etc.)? Are there any recommendations on speakers or amplifiers or kits to that will make things easy to install. I don't have too much room in the box and it's semi-portable so I can't really add a subwoofer and therefore a full range speaker would be best (and something relatively inexpensive).
Ideally I'd like to screw the speaker directly onto the sides (where a whole would be cut out) and then maybe put some kind of speaker grill over them. Would there be any vibration problems screwing the speakers directly into wood or PVC foam?
Thank you for any thoughts.
