AN10 for a large wideband sounds pretty good on some recordings - which 6"-8" in Fostex and Nirvana lineup work well with female soprano-contralto without helper tweeters? are smaller drivers preferred?

The Fostex 165k is great with vocals. Helper tweeter helps as does helper woofer. But power handling is not high. It looks like a delicate driver.

AN10 has a lot of top on-axis and power handling is pretty good - in one spot more HF than a ST324 run with 1.1uF highpass - I don't think AN10 needs any helper - - not sure about AN6 or 8's as don't have a sample
HM had a double horn idea for AN10 but i can't build it. Sammi 8 in BK20 topped with ST324 vs AN10 in reflex (off floor - each on axis) http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/842...4vsan10fb9.gif Sammi 8 in Bk20 with ST324 vs Klipsch Heresy (elevated ~16" off floor) http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5...resyir1it3.gif |
