Ron's A166 & DallasII, or Bob's Dalek should do the job. Possibly Sachiko. Aside from those, I reckon a BVR like the half-Chang box I did would probably work better. Modestly proportioned & uncomplicated the others are not.

I would go with the half Chang like Scott suggested, unless you are after a full horn sound. The 207 in the .5x Chang would be a good perfomer ,attractive (grill cloth on the mouth), and a simple build.
BLHs are best left to those with an addiction. ron |

Hi Ron - - Imight be able to get cutter to do RCA-Fan's horn (?) - if he has time - its the simplest bigger horn - if not might have to go BIB -- seems like BIB would make 1/2 octave tradeoff going lower but losing upper bass . Are BIB too rough (and weak) for cello and bass viola? Best, Freddy

One of my favorite cds on my new Half Changs is Truls Mork's Bach: Cello Suites - really shows off the speakers...

hi Bob - which one over at frugal-horn.com is a half-Chang? fwiw RCA-Fan seemed to think his horn was good on cello and rejected a 31Hz prototype as it wasn't good on cello. Karr sounds pretty good (tone wise) on double-bass with cello suites. Freddy

freddi,
Dave hasn't posted the Half Chang on the Spawn pages over at the frugal horn site (at least as of the last time I checked), but he did post the plans in this thread post |
