Dallas 2 building material question
I have a quick question about the thickness of ply for the above enclosure. I can’t source 18mm (0.7in) ply where I live, but I can 15mm(0.59in). Is 15mm ply thick enough? Will it ring, or resonate to much? Has anybody built a Dallas2 with thinner ply? I’m planning to put an extra back board to strengthen the enclosure, and fill all the voids with sand. I’m using ply made of beech, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fagus_sylvatica) that is supposed to be the strongest, densest ply around these parts(850kg/m3). I was planning to scale the plans to 15mm wood so that all the internal dimensions of the enclosure stay the same. Is this the correct way to do it ? Any feedback from Dallas2 builders is appreciated. |

Shouldnt be a problem, just hold the inside to print dimensions. ron |

Hello Mr.Mekulic,
I've seen this Dallas2 in photos on this site. What is the design you are using and where have you found it? Is there a plan with dimentions and information? Thanks, MV |
