I have seen sp200x suggested for open baffle (as a lower price alternative to the Visaton B200), but Qts=0,52 might be on the low side for OB.
Why not tell us what you would like to improve, and a photo or plans of the existing cabinets. If the cabinets are worth keeping, it may be possible to modify the cabinet to some TQWT or TL alignment. SveinB. |

Hello,
I've got four of them and there are several options: BR - from 50 Liter till a 100 (more liter the beter, I'm thinking of 70Liter would be nice) TQWT (Tampered line) If you need the scetches I've got some images from an old forum that isn't around anymore. They should sound great with a deep bass and aren't as big as the 100Liter BR's... Double BR (As the Visaton Solo 50 and 100) Open baffle, not my favourite tried it once... Horn, haven't tried it yet. In short I'm going to build the BR-70Liter with them and a TQWT just for fun... But first I'm going to finish some old projects I've got lying around. The SP-200x needs notchfilters, you'd best should use 1.5Mh, 2x22Ohm 10Watt, 2.2uF in parallel of each other in a serie on the SP200x. In addition a supertweeter would be a good idea to get some high out of the speaker... with a 8.2Ohm resistor in parallel and a 1.5uF 400Vdc in series of the tweeter. Hope this helps, Gr. Henri |

Hi,
Here is a TQWT drawing, from a french forum : http://www.cinetson.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8512 Note they add a SPM-90, glued at the back of the driver, to increase the HF : http://www.monacor.com/int/en/produk...pr=EN&typ=full To be glued as opposite field, preferably whith a 3 mm spacer... |

If you can afford big dimensions, the BIB is just for you :
http://www.zillaspeak.com/bib-howtobuild.asp http://www.zillaspeak.com/bib-pics.asp http://www.zillaspeak.com/BIB-Monacor.asp It will be about 178 x 42 x 29 cm external... The original is there : http://melhuish.org/audio/DIYTQ8.html And THE dedicated huge thread to get more infos/help : Terry Cain's BIB -why does it work and does anyone have those Fostex Craft Handbooks? |
