Cat 6 is fine. Cat 5 is usually cited because DIY cable recipies using this style of wire started to become popular in the mid - late 1990s, before Cat 6 was widely available. It's still not as easy to get hold of in some parts, and often costs more. As far as speaker cable is concerned though, the two types are interchangable. You're unlikely to hear a difference between them, but if you can use the Cat 6, might as well. The only version of these wires to avoid is the stranded type.

This is what I have made up. I was going to use it for my FE206E direct from the driver to the amp, over a length of about 3.5m.
Just wondering now, should I unsolder it from the driver and try just using the 2 wire approach?
