what have other Super 10 users tried for notch/smoothing filter? I hear some "bite" on vocals
I have one Super 10 in a 70 liter reflex in a tiny room - here's its on-axis 1/6 ocrave response at ~30 inches http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/6...afr16thix3.gif |

Hi Freddi, you could try 0.4mH, 6uF, 8R, all in parallel, connected in series with the Super ten. That should quell the peak at 3KHz. Toe in to balance the top.

hi Geoff - thanks - I had one filter on it and will re-measure and try again - super 10 is pretty good in a tiny room with 70l box. Wish I had BLH from comparsions - I'm used to Karlson.
Best, Freddy |

Hi Freddi, I would be interested in the results. Once the mids are sorted out, we could attack the top end.

Yes, please post another graph. I was amazed at the difference a notch filter made in my Tangband Bamboos. Also, how much time do you have on in and does it take a long time to break in like a fostex?

here's an in-room graph at 2 feet of Super 10 with 0.39mH/8R/6.8uF vs no filter
http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/5...h3ktrapop7.gif the woofer in a little room is working harder on odaiko and listening at ~4 foot than my Karlson 15 & 18 do producing visceral levels 20 feet away in a large room - haha - I really can "beat" my K-horn in ways with karlson - I don't like modulation distortion and even with Karlson 2-way theres "some" - repeating drums + flute really show modulation one thing to consider for an upper trap is the off axis response and subjective HF power response - I have flu or something and don't feel like taking the box outdoors Super 10 is a nice driver and will probably operate for most folks w/o a cheater-tweeter - I wonder if cast frame Super 8 is similar on the top - ? |

Hi Freddi, you could try increasing R to 10 or 12 ohm. If that looses too much at 6K, increase C in 1 uf steps.
That flu must be an international thing. Many friends have had it, now our top race horses are quarantined. Get well soon. Geoff. |

still flu-ed out and fried a woofer tester....
here's Super 10 at ~0.5M on and slightly off axis - would one wish to put a trap up there - or not? 1/24 octave http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/5...ap120inbr1.gif my recycled 70 l reflex box is a bit boxy - may not have much of anything on the rear wall - I'll try cardboard egg cartons - if plague ever passes Best, Freddy |
