I have just finished reading through the whole thread (that really took some time
I'd like to ask an subjective question. Since I don't have much tools (and even less experience in woodworking), I'm having quite a hard time finding a local workshop that's able to cut the curves of the CC sides (pls don't even ask why). Q: Is the more focused sound of the Curvy Chang that much better than G Chang, to be worth of all the hustle? Should I just go on and build the G Chang? As a side note, the room is 5.24meter (17.2 feet) x 6.93meter (22.74 feet), 2.6meter (8.5 feet) high, fairly void of clatter. Sitting/listening place is 8 feet from the loudspeakers (which themselves can be distanced 7 feet apart from each other). Listening place --- loudspeakers line is on the short side of the room. I remember someone (maybe Ron or Scott) saying that listening distance should be around 11-12 feet from the CC, so the listener can be inside the relatively small focus spot. I guess as less focused model, G Chang is maybe better suited for my room? P.S. I know that the drivers are discontinued and thus their BVR builds obsolete, but I already have a pair of FE207E drivers waiting for me to find time and make them a suitable home. |

Finally completed my Curvy Changs last night and listened to music for about 4 hours... wow, they are sensational! Now I know what sonic bubble means!
A big thank you to Dave, Scott and anyone else involved in the design of these cabinets... fantastic work! |

Did you buy the drivers recently? if so where :-)
I'm having troubles sourcing some 8" full rangers to go in a curvey chang. As with the fe206ea, I have one source but they want $450 a pair... SC. |

I bought the drivers late 2010 - took a long while to get the cabinets made for me... I bought another pair of bofus from Spectrum Audio in Germany - I think it was their last pair in middle 2011.
A shame these drivers are out of production... |

Hi Dave,
I didnt realise at the time how far the tweeter would be when the design was discussed with the cabinet maker... I should have marked it out. Oh well, they sound fantastic so no complaints here! |
