I am currently building the Fostex FE208ESigma enclosure.
I'm just wondering, will running the speaker wire through the horn and out the mouth have any noticeable affect on sound? I am using 4 strands of cat 5 wire braided together, so the cable is quite thick. Alternatively, what methods are there to run the speaker wire out of the cabinet without the use of binding posts? |

Being lightweight it might rattle occasionally, other than that no problems I can think of.
Secure it to the cabinet somehwere. If you trip over the speaker wire it will prevent damage to the terminals. Alternatives are to leave the sheath on the cable and use a plastic compression gland if you don't want ANY connectors. Neutrik speakon or cannon plugs are a sensible alternative to binding posts. |

Hello,
glue the wire along a horn corner. Binding post are never better than the wire itself, I take the whole wire ~5 m no binding posts in my constructions. Cheaper and better!
