got Panasonic Metal FA-3459 8"
qts seems much higher than posted tech-spec from Panasonic and could be guessed as possibility as seller saying it works well in TQWT assuming didn't botch T-S what's cool for good compromises with this type driver? when watching it play without a box, I advanced volume slowly on a track with bass and cone didn't move much further - it mainly went into compression and more modulation rather than increase of peak movement by "metal" - is its wizzer aluminum? in a 3.2M BIB sim below, 1mm is reached at 0.65 watts ~52Hz 60 inches height is pretty far from my 7'10" ceiling - how are these type inverted? seller's pix cone http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/4149/con1gk9.jpg rear http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/6513/fram1wg7.jpg Simulation 3.2M 182 liter BIB http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/3...vs35lbrht1.gif Unit #1 Revc = 5.4657 ohms Fms = 58.1931 Hz Zmax = 52.8627 ohms Qes = 0.5830 Qms = 5.0553 Qts = 0.5227 Le = 0.2559 mH (at 1 kHz) Diam = 161.9504 mm ( 6.3760 in ) Sd =20599.3690 mm^2( 31.9291 in^2) Vas = 33.9940 L ( 1.2005 ft^3) BL = 6.7431 N/A Mms = 13.2638 g Cms = 563.9369 uM/N Kms = 1773.2482 N/M Rms = 0.9593 R mechanical Efficiency = 1.0798 % Sensitivity= 92.3513 dB @1W/1m Sensitivity= 94.0057 dB @2.83Vrms/1m *************************************** |

Hello Friends
I purchased a pair of these speakers, and I intend to construct a enclosure to them. Did you get further information about these speakers? And about its sound, have you tested it? Thanks for your help Eduardo |

Hi Eduardo - - - I meausured the parameters as above but have not thought of a good enclosure - - - by qes it would be suitable for MLTL/reflex but may play in certain blh to remove the baffle step - - the only blh I have is BK20/201 and I might test and listen.
it could go on open baffle with a woofer. wonder what enclosures various buyers have liked (?) this Panasonic isn't as extended on top as Nirvana 10 but its sweet- - here's an inroom plot on-axis vs a Sammi 8" http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2...ammion1sz0.gif Best, Freddy |

Hi Freddy,
Thank you for your reply. I received these speakers a few days ago, and I liked it. They are very well made. I intend to use it as middle, and include a soft dome tweeter. Eduardo |

Hi Freddy,
I recently picked up a pair of these Panasonic Metal-FA's and was wondering if you had any success with them in the BK20 or open baffle enclosures? Thanks, Greg Quote:
