Default question

Hi, I live in Bogotá, Colombia, I make my set amps 2A3, 300B, and 45, My loudspeakers are Altec Lansing 97db 420 biflex, with EVoice 35T tweeter. I thinking make: 1) a pair of horns with Fostex 206E Jericho cabinet or with the Fostex site recommended cabinet (BLH).
2) Open baffle with EV wolverine 12”. 3) Transmission Line Speakers with 4” Fostex. I listen jazz, blues and R&B, classical. Any comment advice is very much welcome. Thanks, again, Martin

this might give you some more ideas. Much better than the Fostex recommended 206 cabinet.

OK, as you've got a decent sized room, want a BLH, and your good lady understands that music is important (lucky man!) that means you can have some real fun.

If you want to keep size down (in relative terms -horns are not small! ) then I'd build Ron Clarke's superb DallasII. http://www.frugal-horn.com/ronhorns.html The design quality is stunning. An easier build is the Fostex Factory design for the FE208ESigma (much better than the 206 cabinet). http://www.fostexinternational.com/d...ez_enclrev.pdf It's not as refined as Ron's cabinet, but it's very effective, and has impressive bass-heft.

If you fancy going big (!) then either the Bruce or Sachiko cabinets here might suit. http://www.frugal-horn.com/spawn.html I'd suggest Sachiko for the 206 -I designed the cabinet with that driver in mind, and it has more gain. I've attached a shot of Derek's lovely Sachikos, as there aren't any pictures of builds on the site as-yet.

Hope this helps
Scott
