Default Do you know which speaker is this??

Hi People,

Im sorry to write my first message in diyAudio with somethig that challenging.
I have a pair of fullrange speakers but the labels are no longer attached to them!
I would like to identify this speaker so I can build a good cabinet for it.

Does anybody knows them? Is it possible to identify them only by its apearance?
A friend of mine told me that it seems to be a Siemens or Philips.

best regards!
Klook

Hi!
To me it seems to be a phillips AD7.. something. Dave knows better probably.

Cheers!

The basket is quite unique... haven't seen anything like that. The magnet (& the back-plate) have some characteristics that make it look like a philips, but the whizzer is decidely unlike any philips i've seen. Is the lip of the whizzer rolled over?

Any numbers on it anywhere? on the bezel or the back of the cone... what does the dustcap look like?

Knowing what it is, isn't going to help a whole lot anyway, as with any older driver, T/S have shifted so they need to be measured anyway.

I'm not sure why, but the basket makes me think Sansui. I'm with Dave, not a Philips.

Klook, I could be wrong, the surround looks a bit "powdery" in the lower left. A good tweaking driver though.

Geoff.

I could see why you might suggest Sansui... most of their drivers were made by Atomix... the cone doesn't suggest that thou.
