Hi guys, I am pretty new to the whole thing of building your own speakers. This summer I've decided to jump into it and have been quitely reading everything and anything regarding speakers for the last year. In my reading I remember a design called solo tqwp but can not find this page any more, so I was wondering if anyone either has a link to it or design on file. I am going back and forth regarding my project this summer and I remember liking the solo's design. My other consideration is Ibibk with Fostex 127 or perhaps Martin King's design. Any suggestions? I love this forum, by the way.

You might like to take a look at some of these projects if you haven't seen them before: www.frugal-horn.com and http://www.planet10-hifi.com/boxes-fostex.html#fonken
The Metronomes, Fonkens and Mileva will probably be of interest, aren't very difficult to build, and can claim the scalps of much more expensive setups. |

The Solo TQWP you refer to was at: http://www.diyaudio.8m.com/Solo/solo.html However, that site seems to have gone away. You can still see the webpage through the web archive: http://web.archive.org/web/200602180...Solo/solo.html The Solo TQWP is a single driver version of the BD-Pipes design by Bert Doppenberg. Here is a build of the Solo TQWP http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showt...004#post479004 As you can see, just follow the BD-Pipes plans, square off the back and use one driver. The design was for the ACR 103, but also works with the Radio Shack 40-1197 and Fostex FE103 family. I find the BD-Pipes a little forward, so the solo version will most likely require a BSC. Given the low cost of these drivers, I would suggest building the BD-Pipes over the solo. Hope this helps. Cheers, Gio.

thank you guys for your prompt response, however that is not what I am looking for. I saw it as well as a competition entry on Canadian French website, black, tallish, piano gloss. It was entered into competion in 2003 at this websiste http://www.freewebs.com/ulzog/index.htm. However I am open to other suggestions. Sccotmoose in one your replies, as I read through anals of this forum, you suggested ml tqwt as something you had personally built and liked it very much, is this still so? Thank you again guys for your replies.

You mean the Zigmahornet? It's a nice cabinet, although it pushes the 103 a bit hard. Imaging is spectacular though.
http://homepage.mac.com/tlinespeaker...ornet-plan.gif Personally, if I were after a simple, and relatively inexpensive build, I'd go with Mileva & a 127. |

I am sorry guys I posted it wrong in terms of timing but otherwise Gio I think you are correct that is the correct design you are refering to. Yes, I know ... I kind of liked the look and the proportions of it... I know very supperficial. However, I am not that concerned with difficulty level, I am pretty compentent when it comes to wood and woodworking, and I have decent budget=complient wife. So Scotmoose, Mileve, ok I'll take a look at it. Has anybody build it? What does it sound like? I know I am all over the map, just exploring. Again tnank you guys.
