Default Made a boo boo when constructing a speaker - will it have much effect?

I recently constructed a speaker (Fostex FE208ESigma cabinet with FE206E driver), and made an error of not placing the driver in the position of absolute centre. It is about 1 - 2 mm off to one side.

What sort of affect (if any) will this have on sound?

Default essentially none.

If you can hear a 1 or 2 mm "offset", you hear with the dogs..

It's probably about as audible as the difference between the loudspeaker playing at 22 deg C ambient temp and 24 deg C.

I wish I could build well enough to have only a 1-2mm margin of error.

My thoughts exactly. I hope the other side's a mirror image, be a shame to skew the stage of centre.

Well done.

Hi,
deliberately offsetting the driver from the nearest three edges can deliver a small audible improvement, particularly at the higher frequencies.
Similarly removing the corner at those nearby edges can help the sound. Try a large radius curve or even a chamfer.
