I downloaded a file (RS253 Data sheet) from the tubes forum under post "RS253 giant SE monoblock (Chinese)" posted by dhaen. I cannot delete the file & whenever I scroll through my files in "My Documents" & arrive at this file, the computer locks up with an error message. Using Windows XP with Firefox.

Try rebooting in safe mode and delete it from there.
Here's a copy in .jpg. /Hugo |

Thanks for your reply. Tried safe mode & I get the same deal. When placing the cursor on that file, I get an error message & "my documents" locks up.

Then try the command line.
Something like: del c:\my documents\rs2353.gif If that doesn’t work, never ever place the cursor on that file again. /Hugo |

Or just chuck the PC in the bin where it belongs, and buy a Mac!

Tried typing several versions of del c:/mydocuments/rs253.gif, etc. & no luck there either + the fact, don't know what I'm doing. Guess the easy way is simply not to open that file anymore.
Never had so many problems until I got XP. Had to disable Instant Messenger as kept getting crap there all the time & would get a virus every couple months. Installed Firefox & that cleaned up everything until now. Will be very careful about downloads now. My buddy keeps telling me over & over again to get Linux. I suppose Mac would be an improvement as well. |
