when forum rules are updated...

This is more of a suggestion than a "problem"...

The forum rules were recently updated. But what exactly? I happen to know that note 2 or 3 was changed, but for some who might not be intimately familiar with the rules, figuring out what has changed and noting that might be a tad difficult.

I wonder if you might consider use the forum rules thread, or even a separate but related thread, to highlight what section of the rules was updated and why. That way people can make sure to hone in on, and read, the changed section(s). You could also provide background info or the motivation for the change if that would help to reinforce the rule or otherwise provide substance.

Anyway, just a thought.

One of biggest changes is in the notes and in the recognition that much equipment uses switching supplies that have live primary circuitry.

These topics are now allowed on the forums for discussion/repair/design of etc although any inherently unsafe material will still fall under normal moderation and be acted on accordingly.

Everyone should occasionally familiarise themselves with the rules, particularly those offering services and selling products. For most regular posters it is really 'common sense and courtesy' to apply at all times.
