Default Links going AWOL.

I have added a link to ebay like:
20 watt valve amplifier. Home Hi Fi. Pro quality | eBay

Once the message is input I can make the link work fine many times.
However if I leave the page then come back to it the link shortens to:
eBay - one of the UK's largest shopping destinations and no longer points to the item I am selling.

The link is being shortened on subsequent visits to the page.

Both of those go to the home page for me. I wonder if that is something at their end?

If you open the first link in a new tab or page it goes to the item I am selling.

Also copying the link out of the message into the address bar makes it work ok too.

Yes it works ok if I stay on the page after inputting the message.
But if I refresh the page it just goes to ebay front page

I think it is a problem with ebay.

I tried a link into the Windows 8 app store and that works even after refreshing the page.

I noticed on subsequent visits to the message page ebay goes through its "rover" link.
This must be stripping off the extra part of the link.

If you watch the link working ebay cuts in with "ebay.rover" link then redirects to eBay - one of the UK's largest shopping destinations

Maybe ebay s vetting sources of links ?
