editing

as i am still relatively new to the forum i'm not sure how to edit?
can someone give me the in's and out's on how to edit?
i have "edited" posts right after submitting my posts using the edit button that appears but i don't know how to edit thereafter.it seems the button disappears and is replaced by quote,multi quote,reply.

The edit function is only open for 30 minutes after you post. After that, you ask a moderator to do it for you.

hey thanks Cal that clears that up!
i hope i'll stay within the lines enough never to have to take back or correct meself but sometimes it happens!
