I'm trying to do a search for DLK 1/4 Speakers. but since DLK is only 3 letters and so is 1/4 everything I wrote is ignored!!! I know someone is going to explain some simple way to get around this. The simple truth is that this feature is just ridiculously stupid and should be changed instead of worked around!!!!!!!

It is nearly, totally ineffective.
Example: Do a search for "1000 watt sub amp" I have a thread that is named "1000 watt sub amp design/build". See where the "search" function finds it...3 pages in! Google finds it on the second page! |

IMO,that's the one weak point of this site,it always has been.
A better search function is desperately needed! I don't mean to sound like a whining baby, but please improve the search function. There's a huge amount of info on this site, but you can't ever find it! |

90% of things I search for only have 3 letters, I'd be so happy if this problem was resolved

I don't know or can't remember all the little tricks! Search should be easy and effective.

Its a big database, you can't expect it to be really precise unless you give it sufficient input data (advanced search).
The search in the new forum is WAY better than the old one. dave

Not searching for 3 letter words is just stupid. There are many brand names that have only 3 letters. Not being able to search for them is just plain silly. It is a very specific complaint not just whining. I had much better success with the old site in searches. I'm not saying it was better I just don't remember having this problem.
