As a newbie I spent some time browsing the site before registering and logging on for the first time. I thought I had it figured out but have noticed a problem.
I have made several posts, one starting a thread, one responding within a thread, that vanished after I hit the submit button. Any ideas? I did search this forum and saw reference to similar problems but thought they were resolved. |

Hi Toenail
As a new user your posts were just awaiting moderation before they were sent to the forums. They should be up now

Thanks for the heads-up.
I've never seen a "break-in" period on an internet forum before. How long do posts usually take be visible for a newbie? How long before I'm not a newbie any more and can converse in "real time"? TIA |

The time taken for a post to become visible is generally less than a couple of hours and that will decrease in the future as we improve the system. Generally speaking, you'll become a normal member sometime before you make your 20th post.

Thanks for the info. Regardless of time delay the site is awesome.
