Marantz SR-840, just recent enough to have a dedicated CD input, though it's as old as the hills. Bought it for $25 at a pawn shop in 1995. I've gotten my money's worth, that much is certain.
Touching the power button only turns the unit off, you need to touch a source button to turn it on. It doesn't want to power on. Hasn't for two years now. The front panel (where the station tuning appears) is all lit up. It flickers when I try to power it on. I can hear something underneath the speaker terminals click twice when I touch a front panel button. If I hold the unit up at a 90 degree angle it clicks on fine. Is this just a worn relay? Where could I pick up a replacement?

Or possibly a loose connector or dirty connector on the front panels PC board or main PCboard.Or possible hairline crack on the board or a cold solder joint. With the cover removed take a non-metallic(wood or plastic)probe and lightly rake it across the board, around connectors etc. to try and locate intermittent connection.
